The world market leader for large-scale kitchen technology celebrates sales milestone
On 18th March 2010, the 450,000th unit left Rational AGs assembly plant.
The 450,000 Rational unit went to COOP in Japan, where it will be used to cook for students at a university.
“We look after more than 200 university restaurants in Japan.
The SelfCooking Center® allows us to be very cost-effective, and at the same time we gain considerably in terms of flexibility and food quality,” says Tamotsu Yokoyama, Senior Manager of the Tokyo Business Association of University COOP.
Over the past few months, COOP has developed a totally new catering concept – the Campus Cooking System for universities. And at the heart of this concept is the SelfCooking Center® from Rational.
Over 30 years’ experience
Since the first combi-steamer was invented at Rational back in 1976, this technology has developed at an astonishing rate. The units from the latest generation are known as SelfCooking Center® units, and now have very little left in common with the combi-steamer. Complicated controls and constant monitoring of the cooking processes are now a thing of the past. The SelfCooking Center® automatically detects the product- specific requirements, such as the size of the food to be cooked, and adjusts the cooking process fully automatically. It is no longer necessary to set the cooking time or temperature.
