Veggies na Praça is a food truck selling vegetarian food which drives around the streets of São Paulo serving healthy food full of flavour.
Everything started with a restaurant founded in April 2013 in front of Praça Buenos Aires, in the Higienópolis district, by the married couple Agatha Faria and Rogerio Paes. She is a vegetarian and he is an experienced chef and they work together in this project in order to shift paradigms relating to vegetarian and vegan food. In March 2015 Veggies left their fixed base and migrated to a food truck so they could take their offering of natural, creative cooking to other squares in the city.
As well as offering healthy food, Veggies is also concerned about resources efficiency and the environment, using renewable energy sources through solar panels and 100% recyclable packaging materials.

Operating a food truck needs to be flexible and above all, needs to benefit from its efficiency. The reduced space less of than 4 m2 for setting up a cooking operation could have been a big challenge for chef Rogério Paes, but this challenge was easily resolved with the SelfCookingCenter®. In the preparation of more than 90% of all meals in less than 1 m2 of space, the equipment is used for baking breads, grilling vegetables and hamburgers, frying potatoes and baking pastries. Alongside the flexibility, the equipment is attuned to the philosophy of Veggies where dishes are prepared without oil, representing a reduction of up to 98% compared with traditional operations. Original accessories help create perfect cooking results. “The Pizza Grill is our secret weapon. We use it to create grilled vegetables with grill marks and hamburgers as if they had been prepared on a sheet,” says Rogério. Other essential accessories for the operation are the trays for roasts and bread-making along with CombiFry which is used to prepare the famous oil-free chips and onion rings.
