EU RoHS-Directive (ENG Restriction of Hazardous Substances; 2011/65/EU including delegated directiv 2015/863) restricts the use of certain hazardous substances in electrical and electronic equipment. The aim is to eliminate problematic components from electrical and electronic waste in order to protect the environment.

Our customers can always rely on the fact that RATIONAL-devices are both safe and harmless to health in use and comply with environmental law requirements. Accordingly, we are fulfilling our obligation to consolidate knowledge of restricted substances in purchased parts from our suppliers and, in addition, to work on solutions to avoid exemption regulations in the future.
We can confirm that our products comply with the current RoHS directive, making use of permissible exceptions (see table1 and table 2 in annex) within the limits.
The listed substances that comply with the permitted exemption are located exclusively in the electrical compartment of the cooking appliance and therefore do not come into contact with food or drinking water.
Furthermore, our products are subject to the Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment Directive (2012/19/EC, "WEE II"). Our equipment is disposed of properly via a service provider.
RATIONAL is concerned about our common environment and your health: we want to improve constantly and are continuously working to take into account further global recommendations on environmental and health protection.
