Chef Joe Aylward and his team at Burloak work hard to create dining experiences that residents will enjoy. The culinary team regularly consults with the residents and a dietician to create menu options that are both healthy and tasty. Joe even creates restaurant-inspired menus, so that he can bring unique mealtime experiences to the residents.

Prior to having RATIONAL in their kitchen, Burloak had a convection oven that was constantly breaking down causing the kitchen staff to scramble during service. This traditional cooking method required more hands-on labour and didn't always produce the best results.
After Burloak installed their SelfCookingCenter®, the staff shared that the residents almost immediately noticed the improved quality of the foods served. They commented that the food not only tasted better, but it looked more appetizing as well.
Chef Alyward shares that his SelfCookingCenter® ability to cook overnight is his favorite feature. The meat becomes particularly tender and juicy right from the first to the last rack. The gentle cooking process reduces shrinkage and cuts losses to a minimum.
