It all began with an idea, and a spontaneous email sent at two in the morning to Daniel Kneuss, CEO of KNEUSS Güggeli. Thomas Schäublin had the idea of turning his country inn into a Güggeli speciality restaurant. “Many people travel great distances to eat good chicken, and traffic to my country inn was in decline, so I suspected perhaps there was a gap in the market,“ says Schäublin. Daniel Kneuss was open to the idea. The CEO’s curt reply came at four in the morning: “We want to, we’re able to, we need to, we’re coming.“
Finally, in October of 2011, the restaurant re-opened. Besides an la carte restaurant with a good 100 seats, Schäublin also rents the establishment for occasions such as weddings, birthdays or company events, and provides party service as well. At times, he serves up to 800 meals per day. And that’s a good thing, because Thomas Schäublin is bursting with enthusiasm. When asked how he manages to do it all, he merely replies, “I organise it all with my wife and my two RATIONAL.“
