In 1987, a restaurant named Chickenland started in South Africa. Two friends visited the place and fell in love with PERi-PERi flame grilled chicken. They bought the restaurant and changed the name into Nando’s. The first Nando’s in the UK opened in 1992. Nowadays, it has more than 1,100 restaurants worldwide in 24 countries. Most of the Nando’s restaurants are located in UK, South Africa and Australia.
The casual dining restaurant chain specialises in chicken dishes and is famous for its unique PERI-PERI marinade and basting sauces. Diners enjoy the good, nutritional fresh food and the classy familiar atmosphere at the restaurants.
“Starting 15 years ago we continue to have a fruitful working relationship with Nando’s. They are very experienced in what they are doing and understand our requirements”, says Jeff Bloch, Technical Director. The passion for high customer satisfaction combines RATIONAL and Nando’s. They developed cooking profiles for several food items such as chicken breast, portobello mushrooms and different rice dishes for the Nando’s expansion into the market.
For example “To optimise the cleaning process for Nando’s”, explains Jeff Bloch, Technical Director “they cooked 6,000 Nando’s chicken over a period of 2 weeks. And now with Efficient CareControl we can clean the SelfCookingCenter® unsupervised overnight and have no problems with limescale any longer.”
