The Eastern Coast of Canada is known for many things - a beautiful view of the Atlantic Ocean, great people and some of the best seafood in the country. This makes Halifax a popular tourist destination and a highly sought after location for corporations and organizations to host events. With only a handful of venue options, many of them quite dated, there was a significant opportunity for a new convention centre. With that, the Halifax Convention Centre built and moved into a brand new state of the art location in the heart of the city in early 2018.
Executive Chef Christophe took full advantage of this opportunity to open a brand new kitchen for the operation. He eagerly partook in the designing and planning of the convention centre's new kitchen. His firm belief that every kitchen should be safe, hygienic and efficient inspired many of his ideas. What resulted was a high-caliber kitchen that is nothing short of incredible.
Prior to moving to the new location, Chef Christophe had already witnessed how the SelfCookingCenter® created a more efficient kitchen. “In the original convention centre location, our first RATIONAL unit paid for itself in saved labour, energy, and food cost in just nine months. We soon bought a second, third and fourth unit,“ shares Chef Christophe. “It was obvious that the SelfCookingCenter® would become a key component in the new kitchen design.“
