Prior to having RATIONAL in their kitchen, Salty's relied on a series of convection ovens that the staff had to spend over two hours a day scrubbing. Owner Brendan Morrissy shares that even when they bought new convection ovens, “After a month, you couldn't see through the glass no matter how much you scrubbed it.” Installing the SelfCookingCenter® helped to eliminate this issue. “Now we stick in two tablets before we shut down at night and come back to like-new units in the morning. It saves us a lot of money on labour.”
When asked what their favourite feature was, Brendan mentioned he likes both the built-in cooking programs and that he has the ability to add his own custom programs. “We use quite a few of the programs that are built in, but I also love that I can put the unit in manual mode. It can be crucial for a traditional chef.”
Brenden was impressed by what a difference RATIONAL made in his business, compared to his traditional equipment. “After installing our RATIONAL unit here at Salty's, it was a simple decision to put them into my other restaurant next door, McKelvie's.”
