The iCombi is and remains a safe investment: the latest software update makes all gas units H2-ready. This adjustment ensures that the combi-steamer will continue to work reliably and efficiently even when hydrogen is added to the natural gas supply.
"In concrete terms, H2-ready means that gas units are suitable for operation with a hydrogen content of up to 20 percent by volume in the natural gas mixture - this applies to the iCombi from now on," says Matthias Fiegler, Senior Product Manager at Rational. "It is therefore ideally equipped to meet the demands of the energy transition and offers caterers a secure solution for the future."
Users remain flexible when it comes to future energy sources, as the Rational combi-steamer can run on either natural gas or more environmentally friendly hydrogen mixtures. The H2-ready technology ensures that the iCombi works reliably in any case - users can continue to rely on the performance and quality they have come to expect from the iCombi.
The cooking system is converted in two steps: Units networked via the ConnectedCooking digital kitchen management system receive the software update automatically - users simply need to confirm the download. Alternatively, the software can be downloaded online and transferred to the iCombi via a USB flash drive. If the gas supplier makes a change, the Rational service partner will reset the cooking system and it will be ready for use. For more information, go to rationalonline.com.
