For over 56 years, the Friendship Inn in Saskatoon has been a vital lifeline for the community, serving hot meals to those facing food insecurity. Under the leadership of CEO Sandra Kary, the Inn has grown into a bustling hub of compassion, preparing over 450,000 meals annually, a volume that rivals many commercial kitchens.
“Our vision is a community without hunger,“ Sandra explains. “Every day, we process around 2,000 pounds of donated food to prepare meals for those in need. It’s a very busy place—we’re the community’s kitchen and dining table.“
