The Joe Beef Group is well known for their award-winning restaurants across Montreal, Quebec. The group first opened Joe Beef in 2005 in Little Burgundy, an upbeat neighbourhood in Montreal. They then opened Liverpool House, Le Vin Papillion, and McKiernan Luncheonette in the same area. In 2018 they decided to open their first restaurant in Montreal's Little Italy neighborhood, Vin Mon Lapin, a wine bar with a focus on organic wines and local farm fresh food. In only its second year of operation, Vin Mon Lapin joined the other Joe Beef restaurants on Canada's 100 Best Restaurant list.
The menu changes daily, and is based on whatever fresh food products Executive Chef Marc Oliver Frappier finds at the nearby Jean-Talon Market that day. “I've always wanted to have a restaurant in this area of Montreal. The proximity to such an incredible market is a chef's dream.“ shares Chef Frappier.
The items that land on their menu are upscale and unique . You can expect to find dishes such as goose egg with rapini, smoked eel carbonara, or their famous rose salad with praline-foie gras. The restaurant only features 30 seats and does not take reservations, so guests must arrive early or arrive patient, because Vin Mon Lapin quickly fills up night after night.
The kitchen is quite compact, which created a challenge. The chefs at Vin Mon Lapin wanted to take advantage of several cooking applications to bring new heights to their menu, but simply could not fit it all in. That's when they discovered their solution, a RATIONAL SelfCookingCenter® combi oven.
