For more than 90 years, Kendall College has helped aspiring chefs turn a passion for food into a profession. Today, close to 700 students pursue eight programs in culinary arts, baking and pastry, and hospitality management at National Louis University’s Michigan Avenue campus.
Here, students do more than practice techniques. They cook for real people in a café serving the campus, a 1,200-square-foot event kitchen supporting banquets and catering, and The Dining Room, a student-run restaurant open to the public.
Every service brings pressure, responsibility, and the possibility of discovering what they are capable of. Dean Leigh Uhlir understands that journey personally. A Kendall graduate herself, she returned to lead the school that helped shape her career.
